A bridge appeared in Old Dagenham Park at the beginning of July, It played host to pop-up events and happenings until, as dusk falls, it became the setting for an extraordinary and memorable outdoor performance. Gravity-defying circus acrobatics, dance, comedy, theatre and live music, inspired by local people’s stories, create a thrilling and moving montage of the courage, compassion and humour needed to bridge a divide. Meanwhile, the community and beyond come together to create their own real bridges, celebrating stories of bridge-building, bridge-burning and making a difference. Creative Barking and Dagenham (CBD) collaborated with Coventry-based Imagineer Productions on an incredible outdoor arts project, Bridge, which took place in Dagenham, 8–10 July 2021.
